Iranian animated film ‘Benjamin’ grabs two awards at the Kwetu International Animation Film Festival in Tanzania.

Iranian animated film ‘Benjamin’ has grabbed two awards at the Kwetu International Animation Film Festival (KIAFF) in Tanzania.

‘Benjamin’ received the Best Feature Film and the Best Character awards at KIAFF.

"Benjamin’s clumsy yet sweet friend, Asher, screws up, prompting the capture of Benjamin’s mother by the king’s soldiers. Benjamin decides to embark on a hazardous journey to save his mother. This marks the beginning of Asher and Benjamin’s adventures,” reads a synopsis for Mohsen Enayati’s film.

Iranian film ‘This Side, Other Side’ by Lida Fazli also received the Special Jury Mention at the Tanzania event.

Kwetu International Animation Film Festival is a new festival in Tanzania, which was held earlier this month.

KIAFF is “the new hub for animation cinema in East Africa”, the event’s website writes.
